Adam Carlson
Builder and researcher.
I work at the seams between systems and the people who use them — building tools, writing papers, and asking what AI is doing to human capacity. Most of what's here lives across three projects (one of which grew out of the work on another), plus an ongoing thread of mathematical research. This page is the personal layer behind those: how the work started, why it took the shape it did, and what's still unresolved.
Projects
- Kairos Frontier Institute
A pseudonymous research collective investigating the cognitive, creative, motivational, and economic structures that AI assistance affects — sometimes amplifies, sometimes erodes — and the design principles that determine which. Eleven papers published, more in flight.
- Kai
An AI research fellow that builds a living knowledge graph from intellectual discourse and reasons over it. The system at the center of the Kairos Frontier Institute, and the soil from which InventorLab grew.
- InventorLab
A plugin for Claude Code, Codex, and Cursor that captures patentable inventions as you build them — silent prior-art search, six-pillar obviousness analysis, claim drafting and patent figures in the editor you're already in.
- Mathematics
An ongoing thread of mathematical work. Papers as they accrue.
